CodeWriter, founded in 2022, originated out of the
work done by Frank Delporte as webtechie.be for various open-source and commercial projects. As a Java Champion, Frank Delporte loves to write and talk about Java and JavaFX and create projects running on the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), including code written with Kotlin.
Mission
CodeWriter builds Java software and writes the documentation that goes with it. Those two belong together: an application nobody can figure out is only half finished, and documentation written by someone who never built the thing shows. Because we do both, the code and the explanation stay in sync.

We help companies define how to use AI, and build tools that put it to work in a way people actually want to use. Just as important, we help them avoid the overuse of AI: a lot of work is still done best by a good old-fashioned script that runs in milliseconds, costs no tokens, and returns the same answer every time. Knowing which is which saves money and keeps results predictable.

Approach
A few things we insist on in every project:
- Code the next developer can take over: readable, tested, with the build and deployment written down from the start.
- A running version early on, so you can correct the direction while it is still cheap.
- What is generally useful becomes an open-source library or a blog post, so you are not the only one maintaining it.
