Open-Source Java and JavaFX Libraries

Open-source Java and JavaFX libraries by CodeWriter: Lottie4J for animations, Sheetmusic4J for sheet music, MelodyMatrix viewers, a DMX512 lighting library, a JetBrains IDE plugin, and a Lemon Squeezy API client.

CodeWriter builds libraries in public. Most of them started because something was missing in the Java ecosystem, and all of them are free to use in your own projects.

Visuals and music in JavaFX. Lottie4J parses and plays Lottie animations, Sheetmusic4J renders MusicXML and ABC scores on a JavaFX canvas without a browser engine, and the MelodyMatrix viewers show what JavaFX can do beyond the usual business applications. All three come together in the MelodyMatrix application.

Hardware and tooling. The DMX512 and Open Fixture Library library controls stage lights and moving heads from Java, in the same spirit as our home automation work and the book Java Programming for Raspberry Pi. The Recent Projects Organized plugin tidies up the project list in IntelliJ IDEA, and the Lemon Squeezy Java library adds Merchant-of-Record payments to a Java application.
